Task 4

Write an evaluation or criticism of a classmate's blogspot. You could say why you like/dislike it or list the strong points and the weak points. It would be good if you included comments on your favourite/least favourite post. You could also mention the desing, layout, colours, etc.Minimum 200 words.

I decided write about Adrian's blog, although I don`t know him very well, y think that he is a very nice person, who has good sense of humor and he makes me laugh in class (Something that is very difficult).

The first thing I saw was the image of a girl in the countryside. This picture in particular attracted my attention by its size and the tranquility that makes me feel.

The green color is very nice, but I think or I like that the blog have many colors, like mine, I think that is it because I'm a girl...

The text that more liked me was the task 6, for a simple reason: I completely agree with the second disadvantage, is a question that still can not answer. I really liked the pictures , but he could have post many more.

Finally I congratulate him for his creativity, in general I think it is an excellent blog, but neither know what it is really.

Task 3

EL NACIMIENTO DE VENUS
El Nacimiento de Venus (The Birth of Venus) (1485 or 1486) is one of my favorite piece of art.
Sandro Botticelli is the author and is said to have been painted commissioned by Lorenzo Pierfrancesco (de Medici). Some experts think that was made commemorating the love of Giuliano di Piero de Medici and Simonetta Cattaneo Vespucci.
Besides all the symbolism that represents, and the scenes that inspired in films and television, is a work with a special beauty, especially when we look at the details.
I always thought it was very special image of this work, and years later to meet for the first time I understood why: In addition to its beauty, Venus represents the thinking of Plato, who said that human should found the unity between beauty, love and truth.
Not always the beauty is everything, and sometimes somebody is more beautiful when you see with the eyes of love.
But none of this makes sense if it is not present the truth, honesty in all aspects of life.

Task 5

My favourite film is SPEED, but in my country named "MAXIMA VELOCIDAD".

I think that I saw this movie approximately ten times.

The film was originally written with the intention that Jeff Bridges would play Jack and Ellen DeGeneres would play Annie. DeGeneres was initially chosen because the role of Annie was going to be a comedic role opposite the serious role of Jack, but I thank them that it did not happen because I love Keneau Reeves and Sandra Bullock, I think they did their role very well. The film deals with an LAPD swat officer (Keanu Reeves) who is playing a deadly game of cat-and-mouse with crazed ex-cop Dennis Hopper. After Reeves stops Hopper from blowing up a high-rise building, the next obstacle is a city bus. Hopper has rigged the bus to explode if the "speed" ever drops below 50 miles per hour. Sandra Bullock, in her star-making role, plays an unlucky passenger who becomes the center of attention when she is forced to be the driver when the original navigator is accidently shot. The great thing about "Speed" is the fact that it never tries to be more than it is. It goes for non-stop action, thrills, chills, and spills.

The principal cast is:

-Keneau Reeves like Officer Jack Traven

-Dennis Hoper like Howard Payne

-Sandra Bullock like Annie Porter

-Joe Morton like Capt. McMahon and

-Jeff Daniels like Det. Harold "Harry" Temple

And was written by Graham Yost and directed by Jan de Bont.
FOR ME... 5 STARS OUT OF 5.

Task 1

Write about a website you enjoy visiting (120 words minimum) Say:How you found this site. How often you visit it. And explain why you like it. Add a link to the webpage.

My favorite page on the Internet is Google.
I love it, it is very useful and has everything that I look for.
I think that this site was the first I saw when my dad give me my first computer, when I only had 10 years old.
I enjoy so much the section to find the images, so I can spend evenings watching pictures of anything.
Now that I am at the University and I have to read a lot, I became addicted to the translator for translate texts in english.
For these reasons and many more that I recommend visiting the best site on the world.

Task 6

The advantage and disadvantage of using blogs in the English classroom

ADVANTAGES

2. It does not require coordination of schedule with your classmates.
3. You can change the colors and you can incluide your favourites pictures.

DISADVANTAGES

1. You cannot talk directly with your teacher.

2. You cannot practice your pronunciation.
3. You only can access to your blog if you have internet connection.

Task 2

OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS: Evidence Basis for Treatment and Future Research in Psychiatry

Objective: To determine if the available data suport the use of omega-3 essential fatty acids (EFA) for clinical use in the prevention and/or treatment of psychiatric disorders.

The proposition that insufficinet nutrient intake can influence brain function and clinical psychiatric satates is not novel. For example, deficiencies in vitamin B12, thiamine, niacin and folate are known to have adverse neuropsychiatric effects.

General health benefits are associated with omega-3 EFA such as cardiovascular benefits. Data suggest a role of omega-3 EFA in the prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal, rheumatologic, bone and respiratory illnesses. Omnega-3 EFA consumption may decrease the risk of breast, prostate and lung cancer.

Several studies have shown that adding omega-3 in the diet has a positive effect on bipolar patients and in patients with schizophrenia compared with placebo patients.

The relationship between development of demnetia and fatty acid intake was examined in the Rotterdam Study.

Epidemiologic studies have yielded inconsistent findings about omega-3EFA intake and risk of dementia. Subjects who consumed fish at least weekly had a 60% lower risk of Alzheimer's disease compared with those who never or rarely ate fish, after adjustment for age and other risk factor.

THE SECRET OF LIFE

"We have found the secret of life!" These words were spoken by Francis Crick in a Cambridge pub in february, 1953. And in many ways it was true. Crick and his partner, James Watson, told their scientific colleagues about their discovery. It was the double-helix structure of DNA.

DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) contains the recipe for life. DNA is what makes a dog a dog, and a tree a tree. It is what makes every human being different from every other. Crick and Watson's discovery opened a wonderful new field of scientific exploration.

It has revolutionized agriculture. Genetically modified (GM) crops are used throughout the world. Many people believe GM technology will bring an end to world hunger. It will be possible, for example, to produce crops which can grow in the desert. But others are worried that DNA fron GM crops might mix with natural species and produce "Frankenstein" plants which cannot be controlled.

Animals, too, are part of the DNA revolution. In 1997, scientists used a technique called "cloning" to create Dolly, a sheep which was an exact copy of its mother!. We can now clone an infinite number of the very best farm animals. There are even companies which, for a fee, will clone your beloved pet for you!
But is cloning right? Or are scientists "playing God"? Crick and Watson's gift to humanity was incredibly valuable, but it has raised some serious ethical questions.
